Briana Kinsey, President and Founder of Daring to Defeat Diabetes Inc

I'm a graduate of the University of Alabama, with a degree in biology and pre-medical studies. With this degree, I'm planning to become a doctor and specialize in Pediatric Endocrinology. At the University of Alabama, I was a Presidential Scholar, Blount  Undergraduate Initiative Student, on the Dean’s List, and a National Merit and Achievement Semi-Finalist. I was involved on campus as a University of Alabama Student Recruiter, UA Peer Health Educator,  Member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, and UA Diabetes Education Team member. Just a few of my accomplishments include  the Daily Point of Light Award winner #4969, Duke of Edinburgh recipient of Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards,  and the Champion to Stop Diabetes Award winner. I am currently a postbaccalaureate student at American University in Washington, D.C. I also work as an eyewear consultant at MyEyeDr.

I am a participant in the Miss America System. I am currently serving as Miss District of Columbia 2017. I love combining my skills in public speaking and vocal performance to share my passion for being a champion in the fight to stop diabetes. With this platform I hope to help raise awareness, inspire others to get involved, to promote healthy living,  raise funds for educational outreach, and ultimately stop diabetes once and for all.
